Reports obtained by the network of the Organization
Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK Iran confirm the general boycott of the Iranian people
to the farce of parliamentary elections of the regime. This is a positive
response to the call made by Ms. Maryam Rajavi, elected president of the National
Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) to boycott the farce of parliamentary
elections of the regime.
The MEK Iran network reports confirm that until noon, local
time, four hours after the start of the vote, there were only a few voters in
the polling stations. In an attempt to show large crowds, the regime has been
transporting the personnel of the Revolutionary Guard, the Army and the State
Security Forces to several polling stations.
In Tehran, the capital, at 10:00 am local time, Shariati
High School, which is generally one of the busiest polling stations, only
received four voters. Another report from the polling station in Mesgar Abad
shows that nobody had gone to vote yet.
Despite the claims of the mullahs, the Iranians in Sistan
and Baluchistan province are boycotting the electoral farce of the regime.
The official ISNA news agency quoted Mahmoud Vaezi, chief of
staff of the regime's president, Hasan Rouhani, saying there has been great
voter participation and that the government is monitoring the situation through
online portals. “As the leadership had wanted, it seems that people come to the
polling stations in large numbers.”
A Mashhad journalist says: “Down the mullahs government.
Boycott the elections. They have lined up taxis to force drivers to vote. These
same drivers have been protesting their poor living and working conditions
every day. ” However, the leaders and organs of the Iranian regime of all
factions and groups, terrified by a generalized boycott, have been appealing to
the participation of the people in the farce of elections.
Today, in casting their vote, the regime's leaders, including
the supreme leader Ali Khamenei, the president of the Hasan Rouhani regime, the
interior minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, the president of the Parliament,
Ali Larijani, and the foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, again appealed to
the people to vote.
Ms. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council
of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: “These calls, which reflect the regime's
fear of the generalized boycott, only increase the people's repulsion towards
these illegitimate elections and strengthen the intention to boycott this
farce”.”With its chants of 'death at the beginning of the clergy's command and
death to Khamenei' during the uprisings of November 2019 and January 2020, the
Iranian people have voted for the overthrow of the regime and consider the
boycott electoral a patriotic duty and an honor to the martyrs,” he added.
“The boycott of the sham elections is a patriotic duty and
the bond of the Iranian people with their martyrs, especially the over 1,500
martyrs of the November uprising,” twitted Maryam Rajavi, spouse of the founder of NCRI, Massoud Rajavi, on February 18, 2020.
The regime's game of using the so-called
"moderate" faction, which was guilty of all the crimes of the regime,
to manipulate the people and the international community of believing that
there is some connection between the Iranian regime and democracy, was once
rejected more during the protests when people sang "reformist,
conservative, the game is over". Khamenei's massive purge against the
rival faction confirmed this truth once again.
In Tehran, voting has been very scarce. Shariati High
School, which is generally one of the busiest polling stations, only received
four hours at 10:00 a.m. local time, as reported by MEK Iran activists. In
Noshahr, Mazandaran province, the polls were almost empty. “The urn at Amir
Kabir High School was almost empty at 8:45 a.m. No one had come to vote. But
the regime has the area surrounded by security forces for fear of protests,”said
a local.
A local report by Rasht, from Shahid Beheshti High School,
Azadegan Street, says: “The place is full of civilian-dressed agents so people
can't record videos”.
The NCRI communiqué No. 6 on the electoral farce in Iran
states: “According to reports from thousands of polling stations across the
country, including Tehran, Karaj, Shahriar, Robat Karim, Islamshahr, Qods,
Isfahan, Baharestan, Najafabad, Golpaygan, Zarinshahr, Yazdanshahr, Lamerd,
Dasht-e Arjan, Firouzabad, Zahedan, Sonqor, Neyshabour, Mashhad, Shahr-e Kord,
Kazeroun, Dalahou, Hamedan, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Alvand, Na'ein, Yazd, Yassouj,
Malayer, Rasht, Sari, Nowshahr, Babol, Babolsar, Tabriz, Miyaneh, Daylaman,
Dehdasht, Shush, Behbahan, Bukan, Azadshahr, Khorramabad, Kouhdasht, Semnan,
Qeshm Island and Bandar Kangan, the Iranian people have completely boycotted
the electoral farce of the mullahs.”
Simply put, the regime's attempts to use its false
parliamentary elections as a means to legitimize its government have failed. On
the other hand, it also confirms the will of the Iranian people to overthrow
the regime.
